The Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) establishes communication with barricaded subjects and individuals in volatile situations. By relying on verbal de-escalation, patience, and strategic dialogue, CNT helps resolve high-risk incidents safely.

What You'll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities in this specialized unit.
Respond to Incidents
Respond to incidents involving barricaded or suicidal subjects.
Establish Communication
Establish and maintain communication with subjects in volatile situations.
Verbal De-escalation
Use verbal de-escalation to reduce risk and encourage safe resolution.
Work with SWAT
Work closely with SWAT and tactical teams during high-stakes operations.
On-Call Resource
Be available as an on-call resource for ehttps://www.apdonline.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=809&action=edit#mergencies requiring negotiation expertise.
